NGS Mechanical Services Ltd are a mechanical and electrical services contractor based in Dublin. We are currently engaged in several high-profile commercial contracts.
We are now looking for an experienced Electrical Tester to join our team. The role will be primarily based on site in Dublin city center.
This person will lead their team to deliver projects on time, on budget and in a safe and efficient manner.
Position: Electrical Tester
Reports To: Project Manager & Site Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities (Testing)
- Responsible for inspecting and testing electrical systems and equipment and ensuring they comply with specification, electrical wiring regulations and standards.
- Keep records, compile inspection and test reports for issue to Site Management Team.
- Review and compile test documents from specialist suppliers and sub-contractors for inclusion in O&M and BCAR handover documentation.
- Advise on non-compliant installations.
- Inspect wiring and terminations for quality and compliance.
- Write up recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure all test instruments have current calibration certificates and assist in maintaining the Test instrument Register
Duties and Responsibilities (Installation)
- When not carrying out testing procedures, be available to carry out electrical installation works as required by the Project Manager or Site Supervisor.
- Installation works shall include all aspects of low and extra low voltage systems and include but are not limited to, containment, cabling and wiring, final fix, glanding and terminating.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the operation of company electrical test instruments.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
- Skill in the installation of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, etc.)
Requirements / Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position.
- National Craft Certificate.
- Qualified Certifier through a CRU accredited provider.
- Current Safepass Cert.
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Current Abrasive Wheels Certificate (optional but preferred)
